Description
The book documents the artistic journey and body of work of the Welte sisters, known as NONOS, and offers a comprehensive insight into the breadth of their artistic practice. It traces their lives, the establishment of their studio, and the continuous development of their artistic career.
Mercedes and Franziska Welte are internationally recognized as a unified artistic duo under the name NONOS. Their distinctive style brings together sculpture, abstract wall works, and painting into an independent artistic language. The works are created using a variety of techniques and materials, with a particular focus on carbon, fiberglass, and bronze.
Originally, the term NONOS referred exclusively to their sculptures. Over time, it evolved to encompass their entire body of work and today represents both their shared artistic vision and their name as artists.
